so i went to singapore for a solid 12 hours recently and it was one hell of a fun day!
i arrived in jb from malacca at midnight because i missed my 8pm bus so i gotta hop on the next bus at 9pm. As i arrived in larkin sentral, took an uber to my hotel in jalan Masai Jaya. Got some rest and woke up at 7 to get ready for my adventure in singapore!
(( A friend of my cousin's whos working in jb offered to guide us around in singapore as hes been there twice. ))
That morning, we went to get a heavy breakfast ( nasi berlauk ) to get some energy for singapore. Then, went straight to JB sentral. In JB sentral, we went to buy some mineral water and some snacks for singapore as you know sgd(singapore dollar) is VERY expensive ( or in other words, myr is very cheap) so we planned to NOT buy ANY food in singapore and depend solely on our snacks that we bought in JB sentral.
we decided to convert rm200 to sgd and got back 64 dollar singapore. Went pass the immigration in JB sentral and took a bus to sentosa island (rm7). You can buy the tickets from the bus driver IN the bus.
unfortunately, at woodland's immigration, we......... kinda missed the bus. Typically, the bus will drop you off at woodland's immigration post to get ur passport stamped and to fill some forms. Then, you NEED to hop on the SAME bus by remembering the drivers look or the bus's name. From the stamping counter, u have to go pass a security check (like those at the airports) then follow everyone downstairs to where ALL the bus will pick their passengers up.
Since we missed the bus, we took another bus to Kranji MRT ( rm3 or sgd1 ). Make sure you download singapore's MRT maps from google.
We went to Dhobi Ghaut station from Kranji Station then changed to purple lane to go to Harbour Front to go to Sentosa Island. Harbour front station is actually connected to Vivo City mall. Go to Level 3 of Vivo City to get on to Sentosa Express ( sgd2 ) its a train to sentosa island with 3 stops. Waterfront (uss), Imbiah (sentosa merlion) and Beach ( siloso beach and palawan beach)
Then we went to Raffles Place(where the famous singapore landmark Merlion is at) from Harbour front changed to Green lane at Outram Park.
So here's where the adventures REALLY begins. Its a 10-15 minutes walk from Raffles Place station to Merlion statues. Along the way, you can see Marina Bay Sands. From Merlion statue, we walked to Clarke Quay Riverside. There, we perform our Asr & Maghrib prayers. My friend cant do Jamak & Qasar as Jb-Sg is not that far. He performed his zohor prayer at Sentosa's prayer room.
Theres a small mosque undeground right across McDonald's Clarke Quay. Maulana Mohamed Ali mosque. We took a quick rest, ate our snacks refill our mineral water at the mosque.
We continued our LONG WALKS to Gardens By The Bay. It doesnt feel THAT far as Singapore neon lights will make you forget about the distance. You'll walk pass singapore's riverside football court, some buildings and go through Marina Bay Sands itself.
We only went to Super Tree Grove as its FREE ENTRANCE unlike other attractions in Gardens by The Bay. After tons of pictures and selfies, we walked to Bayfront Mrt Station to go back to Kranji station.
As soon as you get off Kranji Mrt, you have to cross the roads and wait for the bus to Jb sentral ( sgd 2 ) Tell the bus drivers youre going to go to Jb sentral instead of Larkin sentral. You will need to queue again for passport stamping and hop on the same bus to Jb sentral. Please note that you can take Any bus as long as its the same company as the bus that you bought the tickets from.
AND best part is...... i only spent 14 sgd in singapore!!!!! so when i converted my sgd back to myr cash, i got around rm150+ back. the current exchange rate at that moment was rm3.10.
